Enriching Humanity: Care in a Bag
Girls can study this course at either Year 9, or 10 or BOTH.
This course has a focus on ‘enriching humanity’. Students will identify a charity of
that needs support (e.g. a homeless shelter, bushfire affected animals, children in
need and so on), identify the needs of this group, and then create a ‘Care in a
Bag’ package, filled with products they have designed and made to support the
charity of their choice.
Use of technologies that could potentially be used in the development of products (eg. fibre and food technologies, 3D printing and laser cutting technologies, along with associated software)
Social, ethical and sustainability considerations of technology (food and fibre focus)
Sustainable food and fibre production
Students use the Design Cycle, a process approaching industry standard, to
design, develop and test their products.
