Learning & Communication.
Creative Arts: Film & Visual Effects 1/S is a subject that focuses on the understanding of film theory and its practical application through the creation of a short film.
Students apply the knowledge and understanding they develop through their research and analysis of example films in the investigation task. Student’s develop practical skills through their skills assessment task which are then applied in their final film products. Students will be asked to develop individual films, however they can work together in small groups to assist in their completion.
The subject also focuses on the development of post-production techniques using Adobe Premiere and After Effects. The subject is designed for students who have a keen interest in film development and visual effects and requires students to work independently on large products. Students will be required to complete one film product, with supporting documentation, an investigation and a skills assessment task.
Students completing a full year of the subject will complete similar tasks in the additional semester, with a focus on developing an advanced understanding and skills in preparation for Stage 2 Study.
Students will have the opportunity to enter their works in the NMHS Shortcuts Film Festival. More information can be found at http://nmhsshortcuts.weebly.com
