Music Performance: Ensemble
A solid set of skills in playing an Instrument (Voice included) in a Band setting.
Students must have completed year 11 Music (whole year preferred) and passed Ensemble Performance with at least a C+. It is preferable to have an Instrumental Music Teacher and to be undertaking regular lessons.
Literacy, Numeracy, ICT, Creative & Critical Thinking, Personal & Social, Ethical Understanding & Intercultural Understanding.
Ensemble Performance is a 10 Credit subject where students develop their skills in both Performing on their chosen Instrument in front of an audience in a Band situation as well as developing their Responding skills.
Students develop their Instrumental playing (or singing) skills through regular rehearsals with an Ensemble where performance skills are developed to a High level, necessary for performing in a Public situation. Several public performances are expected throughout the year, including a performance at Senior Campus Music Night.
The student may choose to be assessed either through the class band, or another school Ensemble or one of their own outside of the school.
There may be a cost for the students to attend a required Music Camp (that is a summative assessment). The cost should not exceed $175.
Assessment Type 1:
Assessment Type 1: A 6-8 minute performance plus 2 minute part testing.
Assessment Type 2:
Assessment Type 2: A 6-8 minute performance, 2 minute part testing plus a Discussion.
Assessment Type 3:
Assessment Type 3: A 6-8 minute Performance Portfolio, 2 minute part testing plus an Evaluation.
Assessment Type 4:
