Media Arts: Film
Students may choose one or two semester courses from the Arts learning area.
Students undertaking Film (Media Arts) will be continue their development of practical skills in video production, as well as analysing themes, structures and theories in contemporary short films. Students will work in small production teams where emphasis is placed on filmmaking process (i.e. ideation, scripting, storyboarding, practising camera shots, etc.), product (i.e. development of visual effects, editing videos for public screening) as well as film theory. (narrative structure, elements of mise-en-scene)
Students will be will continue to develop advanced knowledge, understanding and skills using professional film equipment (GoPro’s) and software (Adobe Premiere Rush).
Students will be required to work both collaboratively and independently across a range of assessment tasks. Students with strong time management skills will have an advantage in this course.
Students must purchase a 8GB (minimum) SD card for storage of camera-based files. Students will also require a 8GB (minimum) USB for file storage. Course may involve an excursion for photography and filming, which may be at some cost to the students (maximum $15.00).
