Subject Description
Students will engage in practical authentic challenge-based tasks involved in conceiving, designing, and constructing sets and appropriate props for the School Musical.
The working context of sets and their place in performance will be explored as theory initially (Theatre / stage space and mechanics, Forms of staging, Design styles) and also in practice as applied construction.
This subject will provide much needed support to the School Production ensuring the meeting of timelines and quality assurance within inherent safety. Importantly, an enterprise element will also be included whereby students provide product through a client based approach.

Additional Costs
Students will attend various post-secondary institutions (Tafe SA and Uni SA) and related Industrial organisations via public and/or private bus.
Assessment Type 1:
Practical Inquiry: Students will develop a range of design ideas and demonstrate practical application of knowledge, concepts, and skills.
Assessment Type 2:
Connections: Students will work with production teams to design, develop and implement musical sets and props further developing their chosen capability.
Assessment Type 3:
Personal Venture: Students will develop a folio demonstrating their learning, development of the chosen capability and outcome evaluation.
